Shipping and delivery times for the Springwall Dreams mattress will vary by retailer and will be affected by details such as stock availability and delivery schedules. The model that we used for this review—the Springwall Dreams mattress-in-a-box—was ordered at The Brick and was delivered within the estimated time frame.
Mattress retailers often use their own delivery services to deliver Springwall mattresses. The delivery method many use is known as ‘white glove’ delivery, which means that the mattress is delivered to the room of choice, placed on the surface of choice, and removed from its packaging. Not all retailers are willing to also remove the old mattresses, so some preparation may be required ahead of delivery.
Depending on the retailer, Canadian customers may receive a sleep trial if they purchase a Springwall mattress. A sleep trial is a type of satisfaction guarantee that gives customers a set period of time to try out the mattress at home with the option of returning or exchanging it within a certain time frame. Not all retailers who stock and sell the Springwall Dreams mattress will offer a sleep trial. These policies, along with the fee and warranty structures will depend on the retailer.
Canadian mattress buyers who choose to purchase a Springwall mattress at a retail store may be required to pay for restocking or transportation of returned mattresses. Once again, this will depend on the terms and conditions set by the retailer.

The Springwall mattress we ordered through The Brick’s website arrived within the expected time frame. The product arrived with mild discoloration on the box, though otherwise is good condition. Specialist bed-in-a-box retailers typically include multiple layers of durable plastic protection to compensate for any mishaps during the transit process.
The Springwall mattress box was sealed with staples. This meant that the box could be opened without scissors and required only a firm grip to pull it open. Be mindful of industrial staples as you remove the Springwall mattress from the box, which could cause harm to yourself or your new mattress.
Once open, the compressed mattress sits fairly snug inside of the box but otherwise isn’t too difficult to remove. Simply tip the box from a vertical position down onto its side, and then pull the lightweight box away from the bundled mattress. While the box does have cutout handles, the tight fit of the mattress makes them very difficult to use. It is most efficient to do this process in the room where you intend to use the mattress.
The Springwall mattress is protected with two layers of plastic—a thick outer layer and a thick inner layer to keep the mattress tightly rolled in a cylinder shape.
Customers will need to slice open the outer layer to unroll the mattress, which will still be in its compressed form. Next, unfold the mattress and place it along the designated bed frame. Cut the final layer of plastic. With the vacuum seal now broken, the mattress will begin to decompress. Remove this final layer of plastic as the mattress expands to its full height. For the Springwall mattress, full expansion took approximately 24 hours.

The Springwall Dreams is an 11-inch hybrid mattress made up of three distinct layers. By pairing together different materials, Springwall has designed a configuration that offers reasonable comfort and support.
This mattress is available in only one firmness option. This is standard for the one-size-fits-all approach commonly used by bed-in-a-box companies.
Springwall Mattress Layers
The Springwall Dreams mattress has a two-layer construction:
- Cover fill: 0.5 inches of polyfibre fill. This is a light material sewn directly to the cover and helps give the mattress its shape.
- First layer: 0.75 inches of gel-infused foam. This layer is added to give the mattress its cooling and temperature-regulating abilities while also making for a slightly softer and more comfortable sleeping experience.
- Second layer: 8 inches of zoned pocket coils surrounded by 4 inches of foam encasement. These coils are responsible for the firmness and support this mattress provides. The coils enable greater motion isolation as well as bounce while the foam encasement adds greater edge support.
Of note: Additional polyfibre layers are also part of the construction on either side of the spring layer. These combined with the quilting on the mattress account for the Springwall Dreams’ 11-inch height.
Springwall Mattress Cover
The Springwall Dreams mattress sports a four-colour cover design. The top of the mattress has a white, button-tufted pattern shown in the photo above, while the bottom is a solid grey colour. The edges of the mattress are black while the sides have dark grey floral patterns distributed evenly throughout the perimeter.
The Springwall Dreams mattress cover had creases when it was initially taken out of the box but these ultimately straightened out as the mattress expanded to its intended height. According to the law label, the cover is made of 100% polyester. The Springwall mattress cover is spot-clean only and cannot be machine washed.

Feel & Firmness
By the numbers, Springwall is a very firm mattress. According to the testing conducted by third-party engineers (commissioned by us), it comes in at a 7.1 / 10 on the firmness spectrum. This means that the Springwall mattress has very little ‘hug’ and will appeal to people who prefer less cushioning in their sleep surface.
Motion Isolation
Motion isolation in hybrid mattresses is often better than pure innerspring beds, but less effective than memory foam overall. According to the testing conducted by third-party engineers (commissioned by us), Springwall rated at 6.1 / 10 on the motion isolation scale, the lowest rating in this category for any hybrid mattress at the time of publication (July 2019).
Edge Support
Hybrid mattresses are known for their edge support, which is an important factor for customers who are choosing between foam mattresses and beds with springs. According to the testing conducted by third-party engineers (commissioned by us), the Springwall mattress has an edge support rating of 9.5 / 10.
Bounce
Mattresses containing either springs or latex are known for having much better bounce scores than their foam-based counterparts, though this often results in higher motion transfer. According to the testing conducted by third-party engineers (commissioned by us), the Springwall mattress ranked 8.9 / 10 on the bounce scale.

Who buys a Springwall mattress?
Though Springwall manufactures spring mattresses in nearly every price point, many Canadian mattress retailers carry Springwall models for customers who are unable or simply uninterested in paying the higher price points of brand-name mattresses. The company may lack the overall brand recognition of its larger competitors; however, it offers durably built mattresses at fair prices. On the same note, those who prefer firm, spring-based mattresses and who aren’t tempted by pillow-tops or multiple layers of memory foam may wish to consider a mattress from the Springwall Dreams collection specifically.
One limitation is that unlike its bed-in-a-box rivals, Springwall mattresses are often limited by the restrictive sleep trials and warranty conditions of the brick-and-mortar retailers who sell them. This and the additional shipping costs may undermine the otherwise lower prices and solid performance scores of Springwall mattresses.
In terms of comparable competitors, the Springwall Dreams mattress has a lot in common with budget brands like Bloom Mist, LinenSpa, and even IKEA. That being said, shoppers who are trying to balance getting a decent night’s sleep with saving as much money as possible could still be content with a Springwall mattress—and the Springwall Dreams in particular—as it’s a relatively firm and supportive mattress.
Buy a Springwall mattress if you want:
- A firm, low-profile hybrid mattress
- A mattress made in Canada
- A mattress with lots of bounce
