Without further ado, our Serta iComfort Mattress Review:

As one of the most seasoned brands in the mattress industry, Serta proudly calls themselves the #1 mattress manufacturer in the USA. With almost 80 years in the business, Serta is a leader in driving innovation in mattress design, most notably with pocket coil mattresses.
Serta launched their iComfort all-foam mattress range in 2011 and have seen success in traditional mattress retail stores. However, the iComfort foam product line has seen significant competition in recent years from companies like Octave that continue to innovate and ship directly to buyers instead of in-store.
It’s worth mentioning that the iComfort line has many different model names. In this review we look at the TempActiv ll but note that this model is very similar to the Blue 300, the Blue Max 1000, the Blue Max 3000 Elite, and the Blue Max 5000 Elite. You’ll find this review very useful if you are considering any of these models.

The Serta iComfort mattress was delivered to us in a very reasonable time frame. The Serta iComfort TempActiv II used in this review was ordered at a local Sleep Country store on a Thursday afternoon, and the mattress was delivered on the following Monday morning.
Mattress retailers often use their own delivery service to deliver Serta iComfort mattresses. The delivery is often ‘white glove,’ which means that the mattress is delivered to the room of choice, placed on the bed frame, removed from its packaging, and the old mattress is taken away.
Each mattress retailer who stocks and sells Serta iComfort mattresses may or may not offer a sleep trial. Serta iComfort customers in the USA who choose to purchase their Serta iComfort mattress directly through Serta will receive a 120-night sleep trial. Unfortunately, this policy is not available in Canada.
Mattress buyers in both the USA and Canada who choose to purchase a Serta iComfort mattress at a retail store may incur restocking fees for returned mattresses; again, this is dependent on the individual retailer’s terms and conditions.
Serta iComfort Mattress: Out of the Box
The Serta iComfort mattress is not delivered in a box. Depending on the retailer, white glove delivery service is often included in the price of a Serta iComfort mattress.

The Serta iComfort TempActiv II is a combination foam mattress. By combining different foam types, densities, and firmness levels, Serta has designed a configuration that offers reasonable comfort, cooling, and support.
The Serta iComfort TempActiv II is one of many mattress lines Serta iComfort sell; however, this specific line of mattresses is available only in one firmness option.
Serta iComfort Mattress Layers
The Serta iComfort TempActiv II mattress contains five layers of foam. Like many of the memory foam mattresses on the market today, all layers in the Serta iComfort mattress work together to provide an overall level of comfort and support.
- First layer: 3/4-inch gel memory foam. This provides the initial cushion to the mattress.
- Second layer: 1-inch memory foam. This layer provides the initial contouring and pressure-point relief.
- Third layer: 1-inch support foam. This transition layer helps isolate movement.
- Fourth layer: 1.5-inch memory foam. This second transitional layer works with the first to provide an additional level of contouring, helping to distribute body weight.
- Fifth layer: 7″ polyurethane support foam. This layer gives the mattress its structure and prevents sleepers from sinking in too far.
Of note: Serta does not publicly disclose the foam density information of any layer of the Serta iComfort TempActiv II mattress.
Serta iComfort Mattress Cover
The Serta iComfort TempActiv ll features a cover material they call TempActiv™ Touch Fabric. Serta claims it has “temperature-regulating technology infused directly into the fabric.” The polyester and cotton top cover has a unique blue and grey design with a horizontal linear pattern. This cover is also removable and machine washable.
Serta iComfort Mattress: Environmental Sustainability
GoodMorning.com Inc. carried out a survey in February 2017, discovering that almost 50% of Canadians are willing to spend more money for more environmentally friendly products. Therefore, in every review on Mattress-Reviews.com, we will highlight each mattress company’s green philosophy, as well as how prominent their policies are on their websites.
