Can Haven Compete with the More Well-Known Canadian Brands?
Haven Sleep launched in 2016 and currently offers five mattress styles, including budget and hybrid options. At $1,450 for a queen, the 10” Haven Rejuvenate is priced well above more established Canadian-made brands like Douglas ($799 for a Queen) and Endy ($895). Even premium memory foam mattress Octave ($899) is priced well below Haven’s mid-range option while still offering advanced cooling features like temperature-regulating materials and air channels.
People often choose latex mattresses for comfort and pressure relief. Because the layers conform and shape to the body’s contours, latex mattresses can be excellent for minimizing pain points. Haven’s Classic Firm model is quite firm, and as a result, may not provide the gentle pressure relief that many sleepers look for.
In an attempt to appeal to these shoppers, Haven released a second firmness option, the Classic + Advanced Pressure Relief, which has a soft middle section. The intention is to reduce extra pressure or pinching at the joints by allowing sleepers to sink further into the middle of the mattress. However, this feature seems somewhat out of step with the rest of the mattress industry. Trusted brands like Logan & Cove, Casper, and Sealy Posturepedic reinforce the middle of their mattresses to protect spinal alignment by preventing too much sinkage at the shoulders, stomach, and hips. Some side sleepers, especially those who weigh more than 150 lbs, may find that they are sinking too deeply on the softer option.
For this review, Mattress-Reviews.com tested the Classic Firm Haven Rejuvenate.

First Impressions: Straight Out of the Box
The Arrival
Haven is available for purchase online and is delivered free of charge throughout most parts of Canada. Shipping fees do apply for some remote locations. The mattress arrives in a tall cardboard box that requires two people to move. However, the box does have handles that make it easier to carry. Haven typically ships within 3–10 business days.
The Unboxing
Haven is simple to unpack. Once out of the box, the mattress needs to be removed from its protective plastic layers. The unwrapped mattress should fully expand within a few hours.
The Look
Like other online brands, Haven has opted for a simple two-tone design. The mattress cover has an embossed white knit top and a dark grey woven base.
The Feel
The Haven Classic Firm is noticeably firmer than similar latex or foam mattresses. The top layer has very little give or ‘hug.’ Side sleepers may find that Haven is too firm, especially in parts of the body prone to pressure points, like in the shoulders and hips.
Official Test Results: How Do Engineers Rate the Haven Rejuvenate Classic Firm?
The following results were determined by licensed 3rd-party engineers, commissioned by us:
To be able to accurately rate and compare the performance of the mattresses reviewed on this website, it was necessary to hire licensed 3rd-party engineers. Their independence and operating standards help to ensure the results remain unbiased, valid, and reliable. Each mattress was evaluated using the same strict methodology to protect the overall integrity of the results. The full report is linked below and has been given the official stamp of approval from an APEGA-certified engineer operating under a strict ethical code of conduct.

How Our Engineers Test Each Mattress:
Test Scores | Haven Rejuvenate Classic Firm |
---|---|
Firmness: | 7.8 / 10 |
Edge support: | 7.0 / 10 |
Motion isolation: | 6.3 / 10 |
Bounce: | 5.0 / 10 |
Feel & Firmness
At 7.8 / 10, the Haven Classic Firm is one of the firmest mattresses tested by Mattress-Reviews.com. The surface has very little give, creating the distinct feeling that you are resting firmly on top of the mattress. Sleepers who want a very firm mattress should take a closer look at Haven. However, most people tend to prefer a medium feel for a more agreeable balance of support and cushioning.
Strict back and stomach sleepers might find this mattress more comfortable than side and combination sleepers, who rely on a little bit of extra sinkage to help with spinal alignment or prevent the buildup of pressure points around the shoulders, hips, and other joints.
Edge Support
Foam or latex mattresses are not known for having strong edge support. Weak edge support is often one of the main issues customers have when moving from traditional innerspring mattresses to something else. However, the Haven Classic Firm performed fairly well in the edge support tests when compared to other foam or latex mattresses. If you have mobility challenges that make it hard to get out of bed from a seated position, Haven could be a great solution.
Motion Isolation
The Haven Rejuvenate Classic Firm performed fairly well in the motion isolation tests, receiving a score of 6.3 / 10. Mattress shoppers who prioritize motion isolation—restless sleepers and those who share their beds with partners or pets—may want to consider some of the other mattresses that received a higher motion isolation score from the engineers, like Douglas (8.0 / 10), Octave (7.3 / 10), or even Endy (6.9 / 10).
Bounce
At 5.0 / 10, Haven’s bounce rating is fairly standard for a latex mattress. Sleepers wanting a mattress with a bit more bounce should look at hybrid mattresses like Logan & Cove.

Haven Rejuvenate Mattress Layers
Haven Rejuvenate contains four layers. The individual layers work together to provide a good balance of comfort and support.
- First layer: 1 inch of latex and copper foam. This springy Talalay latex layer is what gives Haven its firm and rigid sleep surface. The added copper acts as a conductive material to help with temperature regulation by pulling heat away from the surface of the bed. Foam density: Unspecified.
- Second layer: 1 inch of open-cell gel memory foam. The slow sink from the memory foam provides a moderate degree of contouring. The open-cell structure of the foam also helps to move air through the mattress to avoid overheating. Foam density: Unspecified.
- Third layer: 3 inches of open-cell foam. This layer is what differentiates the two firmness options. The Classic Firm version has a consistent firmness throughout the entire layer. This transition foam provides additional stability and limits overall sinkage. Foam density: Unspecified.
- Fourth layer: 5 inches of polyurethane support foam. This bottom layer makes up the foundation of the mattress and keeps you from sinking in too deep. Foam density: Unspecified.
Of note: Foam density information for Haven is not publicly available.
Haven Rejuvenate Mattress Cover
Haven’s top cover is made from a bamboo blend designed to wick away moisture and improve breathability. This is helpful for temperature regulation because body heat is less likely to become trapped under the surface. The top cover is plush and soft to the touch.
Unlike their hybrid LUX model, the Haven Rejuvenate has a removable cover that makes it easier to spot-clean the mattress if it gets soiled. Customers may wish to cover their mattress with a protector to guard against spills and stains; however, the company advises that this may negate any comfort benefits from the bamboo-blend fabric.

Final Thoughts on Haven Rejuvenate
Competition among Canadian mattress brands is fierce. While Haven is a well-made product, the higher than average $1,450 queen mattress price compared to similar or even premium options with more advanced features like Octave ($899) may put Haven out of the running for more frugal shoppers.
Side and combination sleepers may find Haven’s firmness uncomfortable, especially at the hips and shoulders. On the other hand, the Classic + Softer Zoned may not have enough central support for some sleepers. If you are thinking of ordering the Haven Rejuvenate mattress, you may want to carefully consider your sleep style before selecting a firmness option.
If you’re looking to get the most value from your mattress, several options offer similar (or better) features at a much lower price. To browse brands and read more reviews for mattresses within your budget, check out this year’s Best Mattresses.
