Silk & Snow, Endy and Logan & Cove are well-known mattress brands in Canada and all three brands have built up a loyal customer base. So, what are the backgrounds behind each of the brands?
Silk & Snow
Silk & Snow is a small North American bed and bath company. They entered the bed-in-a-box market after completing a Kickstarter campaign in 2017, releasing their first memory foam mattress. Since launching, the company has released two more mattresses: the Silk & Snow Hybrid and the Silk & Snow Organic. In 2022, the company expanded its home product assortment by releasing a line of bath products.
Endy
Endy is a bed-in-a-box mattress brand owned by Sleep Country, Canada’s largest chain of mattress retail stores. The company has been selling its “one-size-fits-all” foam mattress since 2015, competing with other online brands like Casper and Douglas. Endy mattresses are made in Ontario and Quebec and shipped out from distribution centres in Ontario and British Columbia. In 2022, the company expanded its mattress lineup with the Endy Hybrid, a more firm version of their foam mattress mixing foam and coils.
Logan & Cove
Logan & Cove was launched in early 2018. Since then, it has grown to become one of the best-selling boxed hybrid mattress brands in Canada, even outpacing some brands that had helped define the segment. Its combination of premium materials with luxurious design details is still seen as an attractive alternative to similar retail store models, which sell for up to a few thousand dollars more.

Thanks to modern compression methods and the rising popularity of the bed-in-a-box, mattresses can now be shipped far more efficiently and conveniently than ever before. Customers no longer need to take a day off work to accept a delivery. Boxed beds are now delivered with the same convenience as most Amazon orders. Some bed-in-a-box companies even offer same-day delivery to certain areas.
Silk & Snow uses a variety of courier services to deliver to customers in Canada. Endy uses UPS to deliver their mattresses to Canadians. Logan & Cove uses FedEx. All three mattresses will be delivered directly to customers’ doors throughout most parts of Canada. In some cases, the mattresses can even be left on a porch or deck while the customer is at work. Shipping is free to most addresses, but fees do apply to remote areas.
Shipping times for the Silk & Snow mattress, Endy Hybrid mattress and the Logan & Cove mattress are similar. All three mattresses will be delivered within 10 business days.
As with any bed-in-a-box brand, Silk & Snow, Endy, and Logan & Cove heavily promote their in-home sleep trials. While Endy offers only a 100-night sleep trial, both Logan & Cove and Silk & Snow offer a 365-night trial.
If a customer wishes to return their Silk & Snow, Endy Hybrid, or Logan & Cove mattress within the sleep trial, all three companies will arrange to pick up their mattress and issue a full refund. There are no additional return or restocking fees for either product.

The Silk & Snow Hybrid, the Endy Hybrid, and Logan & Cove mattress were all delivered to us within the expected delivery time. All of mattresses were well-protected by heavy-duty plastic layers within the boxes to protect them during shipping.
Once the boxes are unsealed, the compressed mattresses are easy to remove from the box. We recommend a simple ‘tip-and-pull’ motion to save strain when unboxing the mattress. Simply tip the box from a vertical position into a horizontal position and pull the mattress out of the box. To make things even easier, do this process in whatever room you intend to use the mattress.
The Silk & Snow, Endy Hybrid, and Logan & Cove are all protected with multiple layers of heavy-duty plastic. Unwrap the first layer of plastic to change the mattress from its cylindrical, rolled shape into a flat, compressed form.
After completing this process, simply unroll the mattress, making sure the top cover is facing up. Place the corners in the correct position on the bed frame.
Next, cut the final layer of plastic and the new mattress will start decompressing. Remove this final layer of plastic and the mattress should expand to its full height within a few minutes. All three mattresses began to expand immediately. The Endy Hybrid and Logan & Cove mattresses took less than two minutes to fully expand while the Silk & Snow Hybrid took several hours. That being said, we recommend leaving any boxed mattress up to 48 hours before using it to ensure it reaches its fully intended height and firmness.
It’s worth noting that Silk & Snow mattresses may take up to 72 hours to expand, according to the manufacturer. This is less than optimal if you need to be able to sleep on your new mattress immediately.

The Silk & Snow Hybrid, Endy Hybrid, and Logan & Cove mattresses are all hybrids. Hybrid mattresses are made up of different layers and materials to provide overall support and comfort. Each of these three mattresses are constructed quite differently.
Another major difference between the Silk & Snow Hybrid, Endy Hybrid, and Logan & Cove mattress are the foams used for comfort, contouring, and pressure point relief, as well as the support layers for motion isolation and edge support. Each mattress contains comfort, transition, and support layers, and these layers vary slightly in height and density.
On the outside, all three mattresses have a unique top cover that showcases the brand’s mattress design. None of the mattresses has a machine-washable top cover.
Logan & Cove and Endy mattresses are proudly made with foams, coils, and fabric sourced from Canadian manufacturers.
Silk & Snow Hybrid vs Endy Hybrid vs Logan & Cove Mattress Layers
Silk & Snow Hybrid
Endy Hybrid
Logan & Cove
Silk & Snow Hybrid Mattress Layers
The Silk & Snow Hybrid mattress contains 3 layers:
- First layer: 1 inch of quilted cooling gel foam and holofiber fill. This top layer adds a touch of softness to the top of the mattress to aid with pressure-point relief.
- Second layer: 2 inches of gel memory foam. This transition foam replaces two layers in the previous iteration of the Silk & Snow Hybrid mattress. Not only does the transition layer help shape the overall feel and firmness of the mattress, but it’s infused with cooling gel to help promote heat dissipation.
- Third layer: 8-inch of pocketed coils. This bottom layer of tempered steel coils makes up the foundation of the mattress, offering responsive support and motion isolation. Certain sections of this base layer are intersected with thicker coils to assist with spinal alignment.
Of note: A fibrous transition layer on each side of the springs accounts for the remaining inch in the 12-inch build.
Endy Hybrid Mattress Layers
The Endy Hybrid mattress contains 4 layers:
- First layer: 2 inches of Endy comfort foam. This layer of polyurethane is intended to provide comfort and temperature control. It has an open-cell structure, which is an increasingly standard feature among modern mattresses. However, unlike some of its competitors, Endy does not have cooling gel, vertical air channels, or conduit materials in its top layer for added temperature regulation.
- Second layer: 3 inches of polyurethane foam. This transition layer works with the comfort layer above to provide an additional level of support while helping the mattress to conform to your body’s shape.
- Third layer: 6-inch of zoned steel coils. A layer of pocketed steel coils makes up the main support layer of the Endy Hybrid mattress, which also helps with motion isolation. The centre-third of the mattress features thicker coils than the other two ends of the bed, which assists with lower-back support and alignment.
- Fourth Layer: 1.7 inch of polyurethane foam. This final layer of foam rests beneath the coil layer to add nearly two inches of height to the mattress. Foam layers of this size are not commonly used below the spring unit as they can create instability to the mattress.
Of note: The 6-inch pocketed coils used in the Endy Hybrid are two inches shorter than what is common in most other bed-in-a-box hybrid mattresses. Additionally, upon dissection of the mattress we received, it was discovered that there was no glue or attachment of any kind to secure the upper foam layers to the full perimeter spring unit. This may result in drifting layers over time if the mattress is mishandled.
Logan & Cove Mattress Layers
The Logan & Cove mattress is made with 4 robust layers, to meet the needs of different comfort preferences:
- First layer: 0.5 inch of quilted top cover. The top cover is made with CryoFusion™ cooling nanofibers, which provide a cool and supple feel. It also includes breathable hollow fibre fill and quilted gel-infused foam for added plushness.
- Second layer: 1 inch of cooling gel memory foam. This responsive material helps with cushioning and heat regulation around the sleeping surface. Foam density: 2.5 lbs/ft3.
- Third layer: 1.5 inches of Elastex® foam. This thicker foam layer serves as transitional support between the pocketed coils below and the cushioning layers above. It effortlessly contours to your body, providing exceptional comfort in any sleeping position. Foam density: 1.8 lbs/ft3.
- Fourth layer: 9-inch individually wrapped pocketed coils. The pocketed coils are made from multi-tempered steel and arranged in 5 zones to provide robust support and motion isolation across the entire sleep surface.

Silk & Snow Hybrid Mattress Cover
The top cover of the mattress has a shallow white surface with stitched tufting. Silk & Snow promotes its antimicrobial mattress cover (antibacterial materials and treatment processes undisclosed) which is said to help prevent the growth of many types of bacteria. This added feature may be of use to customers who do not plan on using a mattress protector; however, the company’s return policy cites that all products must have no stains, soiling, nor odours to be eligible for returns.
According to the law label on the mattress, the top cover is made up entirely of polyester.
Endy Hybrid Mattress Cover
The Endy Hybrid has a cover design that emphasizes the softness of the mattress. The entire sleep surface is covered with white quilted fabric made mostly from polyester and padded with foam and polyfill for a plush feel. Unlike some of its direct competitors in the hybrid market, the Endy does not incorporate cooling or moisture-wicking materials into its cover lining; however, these exclusions help to keep the total cost in check.
The grey sidewalls of the Endy Hybrid are also made exclusively from polyester and feature sewn-in adjustment handles. Customers should note when transporting the mattress that these handles are intended for adjusting the position of the mattress; any tearing or damage to the handles is not covered under the manufacturer’s warranty.
Logan & Cove Mattress Cover
Logan & Cove’s impressive quilting is full of intricate details, ones generally reserved for higher price segments. The design uses diamond tufting, accent stitching, and other elegant touches to make a mattress you can’t help but want to run your hands across.
To keep you cool and comfortable through the night, the white quilting is filled with breathable hollow fibre fill and gel-infused foam infused with CryoFusion™ cooling nanofibres. Altogether, this luxury styling is all but unheard of in the mattress-in-a-box category, especially at Logan & Cove’s price point.Silk & Snow Hybrid vs Endy Hybrid vs Logan & Cove: Feel and Firmness
