Thanks to modern compression methods and the rising popularity of the bed-in-a-box, mattresses can now be shipped far more efficiently and conveniently than ever before. Customers no longer need to take a day off work to accept a delivery. Boxed beds are now delivered with the same convenience as most Amazon orders. Some bed-in-a-box companies even offer same-day delivery to certain areas.

Saatva delivers via white glove delivery,  bringing a fully expanded mattress to the customer’s home and setting it up. Locally-contracted logistics companies are contracted to fulfill the white-glove delivery service. 

Novosbed uses FedEx to deliver the compressed and boxed Novosbed mattress. Both mattresses will be delivered directly to customers doors throughout most parts of Canada. Because the Novosbed mattress is in a box, the mattresses can even be left on a porch or deck whilst the customer is at work.

Shipping time for Saatva and Novosbed is varied. The Saatva mattress will be delivered within 18 business days, whereas the Novosbed mattress will be delivered within 10 business days.

As with any bed-in-a-box brand, Saatva and Novosbed heavily promote their in-home sleep trials. Novosbed has an industry leading sleep trial with a 120-night in-home sleep trial. While Saatva beats that number with a 180-night sleep trial.

The Saatva mattress and Novosbed mattress were both delivered to us within the expected delivery time.

The Saatva mattress is not delivered to you in a box. A white-glove delivery service is included in the price of the Saatva mattress, this means that the Saatva mattress is shipped from Saatva’s manufacturing facility to a locally-contracted delivery company, and they will deliver it directly to the bedroom, place it on the desired bed, and remove all of the mattress packaging.

The Novosbed mattress is delivered compressed in a box. The Novosbed mattress is protected by heavy-duty plastic layers within the box to protect the Novosbed during shipping.

The Novosbed mattress box is sealed with heavy duty tape. Customers will definitely need scissors or a knife to open the box. Remember to be extra careful when opening the box with sharp objects.

Once opened, the compressed Novosbed mattress is easy to remove from the box. A simple ‘tip-and-pull’ motion is what we recommend. Simply tip the box from a vertical position into a horizontal position and pull the mattress out of the box. We recommend doing this process in the designated bedroom.

The Novosbed mattress is protected with multiple layers of heavy-duty plastic and customers will need to unwrap the first layer of plastic in order to change the mattress from a cylindrical shape into a flat, albeit compressed, shape.

Some helpful advice at this stage is to place the rolled mattress on to the designated bed frame, find the end of the outer layer plastic, pull it loose, and use the momentum of pulling it with the rolled mattress shape to remove the outer layer. After completing this process, customers will see an unrolled mattress.

Next, cut the final layer of plastic and the new Novosbed mattress will start decompressing. Remove this final layer of plastic and the mattress should expand to its full height within a few minutes. The Novosbed mattress expanded to its full height within 1 to 3 minutes depending on the firmness.

The Saatva mattress and Novosbed mattress are constructed very differently. The Saatva mattress is a hybrid mattress, whereas the Novosbed mattress is a high-density memory foam mattress. The Saatva mattress and Novosbed mattress are both available in 3 firmness options.

One of the major differences between the Saatva mattress and the Novosbed mattress is the different types of foams used for comfort, contouring, and pressure point relief, and support layers for motion isolation and edge support.
