Bloom and Logan & Cove are two of the most well-known mattress brands in Canada and both brands have built up a loyal Canadian customer base. So, what are the backgrounds behind Bloom and Logan & Cove?
Sleep Country introduced the Bloom mattress in 2017, marking the Canadian retailer’s entrance into the ‘bed-in-a-box’ mattress space. Best known for their radio jingle, which can be recited by most Canadians: “Why buy a mattress anywhere else? Ding!”, Sleep Country has been a staple of Canadian’s lives for almost 25 years.
Logan & Cove was launched in early 2018. Since then, it has grown to become one of the best-selling boxed hybrid mattress brands in Canada, even outpacing some brands that had helped define the segment. Its combination of premium materials with luxurious design details is still seen as an attractive alternative to similar retail store models, which sell for up to a few thousand dollars more.

Customers no longer need to take a day off work to accept a delivery. Boxed beds are now delivered with the same convenience as most Amazon orders. Some bed-in-a-box companies even offer same-day delivery to certain areas.
Bloom uses UPS to deliver their mattresses to Canadians. Logan & Cove uses FED/EX. Both mattresses will be delivered directly to customers doors throughout most parts of Canada. In some cases, the mattresses can even be left on a porch or deck whilst the customer is at work.
Shipping time for the Bloom mattress and the Logan & Cove mattress is similar. Both the Bloom mattress and Logan & Cove mattress will be delivered within 10 business days.
As with any bed-in-a-box brand, Bloom and Logan & Cove heavily promote their in-home sleep trials. Logan & Cove has the longest sleep trial of both mattress brands with a 120-night sleep trial. Bloom offers a 100-night sleep trial. However, the Bloom mattress can only be returned to Sleep Country for an in-store credit.

The Bloom mattress and Logan & Cove mattress were both delivered to us within the expected delivery time. Both mattresses were well protected by heavy-duty plastic layers within the boxes to protect the mattresses during shipping.
The Bloom mattress and Logan & Cove mattress boxes were both sealed with heavy duty tape. Customers will definitely need scissors or a knife to open the box. Remember to be extra careful when opening the box with sharp objects.
Once opened, the compressed mattress is easy to remove from the box. A simple ‘tip-and-pull’ motion is what we recommend. Simply tip the box from a vertical position into a horizontal position and pull the mattress out of the box. We recommend doing this process in the designated bedroom.
The Bloom mattress and Logan & Cove mattress are both protected with multiple layers of heavy-duty plastic and customers will need to unwrap the first layer of plastic in order to change the mattress from a cylindrical shape into a flat, albeit compressed, shape.
Some helpful advice at this stage is to place the rolled mattress on to the designated bed frame, find the end of the outer layer plastic, pull it loose, and use the resulting momentum to roll the mattress into position on the frame. Once in position, remove that outer plastic layer. After completing this process, customers will see an unrolled mattress. Simply unroll the mattress, making sure the top cover is facing up, and place the corners in the correct position on the frame or foundation.
Next, cut the final layer of plastic and the new Bloom mattress or Logan & Cove mattress will start decompressing. Remove this final layer of plastic and the mattress should expand to its full height within a few minutes. The Bloom mattress took 3 minutes to fully expand. The Logan & Cove mattress took 1 minute to fully expand.
